Hi Sed,

It works well. Keeps an Engel running on 5 (max cold) for more than a day. I think it’s designed to work perfectly with their solar panels and be continuously recharged.

Where it shines is that it has a built in pure sine wave inverter so running a laptop is very doable and of course it’s a fraction of the weight of my 120a/h AGM battery.

Is it worth the R7 to 8k? Well, you don’t need a separate MPPT charger (built in) you don’t need a separate battery and you score an inverter so I’d say yes.

It only has 44a/h capacity but I have been assured that all of that is useable down to zero so capacity wise it could be compared to a 95a/h deep cycle battery. For me, I want to hook it up to solar when we go camping in December and see that I can have ice for a week.

I also agree that it is lighter and easier to use. It could also be cheaper... I ask Santa for one!

I bought the Flexopower Lithium444 power pack in December but since them I did not managed to make it work. I tried to connect to a ARB fridge. It works for an hour and then the fridge get in error mode.
I tried now with a National Luna weekender and I have the same result. It get in error mode. Even if I connect the power pack to the 220V at home.

Is anyone using this pack in the car with success? The reply I got from Flexopower was that it was normal. Unfortunately, I am not confident I can use it overlanding. I wanted to exchange my National Luna box for this as it is lighter.

Hi Sed,

Take it back. I have one and it works perfectly on the Engel. Initially I thought mine was faulty because they use a non-standard DC connector (those two holes with the pins in them next to the USB ports) but once I got the right size connector it’s worked fine.

I found the flexopower works perfectly to run tv, decoder, WiFi and some lights for the lodshedding period

And easy enough for the kids to use

Antony, after few months, how is it going with the flexopower box? Did you managed to use it with your fridge?

Hi Sed, I find it powers my Engel easily. I haven’t run it totally down and in December in Kosi Bay it worked well with one 120w solar panel to keep both Engels going while we camped for a week. So quite efficient.

I like that it is much lighter than my AGM 120a battery and it works very well to plug my WiFi router into when load shedding hits.
