Hello
Mileages differ, between 145k km and 285k km, all cars very well preserved.
No transfer case, but AWD at least, 210mm ground clearance. With 2 people on board, a duffel bag and a 50l fridge on board, will it get through the bit of sand to Garaghab or Namakwa Caracal Route there by Skuinsbaai Noord, Spoegrivier caves, etc.?
It has 235/64R17 tyres.
Can tyres with more sidewall height be fitted to the same rim, without ill consequence? I was thinking of LT type or something with 3x sidewall.
Was wondering about Duratrac, Grabber AT3, KO2, etc. Some say that KO2 hardens over time, affecting wet road handling? Another forumite elsewhere says that "KO2's are made of punctures." I need advice, but don't want to beat the Magog at starting a freshly ground verbal war..... Educate the inexperienced. [I had great mileage and bad handling from General R280, ply separation on Firestone S211, lovely, pliant ride and bad mileage from Grand Prix S and Grand Prix III.]
Typical problems with these cars??
