Hello

Recently bought an 2012 ML350 4 Matic with 119 000km. 2 months in at 120 000km, check engine light pops up. Took the car to MB Bryanston (must say 1st time taking car to official MB). After 1 week ,we are told it is O2 sensor. 2 weeks go by sorting warrenty issues. Finally sorted, Warrenty says will only pay 40% of amount. Another week goes by cause the part is coming from Isando - so will take about a week.

In the meantime I wrote to Motus group complaining about poor service. Immediately start getting calls from MB Bryanston about how can we help?

Long story short. Get the car back after 4 weeks with a water leak - water had which had to be topped up at dealership in the vehicle handover place. " ..the car could not be check properly as it is not in a driveable condition - with water leak from radiator....so check engine light might come back on...". Asked for quotation for laughs. R13k or so.....Took car home, checked where leak was from, tightened brass fitting and all if well after 3 weeks.

Only "good" think was 60% of Bill was scrapped.

Lesson learnt, never take car to official MB.
Cheers

One needs to challenge these guys and ask they for the training / qualification records of the guys working on your car - I'm sure lots will come out the wood work then

Am sure there is some doggy things going on in these workshops. When I asked why the car had water leak (because it was not there when I dropped it off) , i was told a car can develop a leak anytime.

I asked, did they see the leak (basically pouring out when I took the car) when I brought the car and was there a water level light. They said no,only the check engine light.

I suspect some foul play, fitting was so loose one could move the pipe by hand.

You will know Linda, the isiZulu saying, " ngizozonela mina."

So I have long ago decided to take this advice and to mess it up myself.
