Hi Guys
I changed 2 fuel filters however engine refusing to start, my mechanic tried using an auxiliary fuel pump to bleed the system but no luck.
Unlike the older diesels which had a manual primer pump the om 603 does not.

The OM 6053 is designed to bleed itself, but will probably flatten your battery in the process. I had a hand pump like they use on boats in line with the fuel line and bled the system that way. What also helps is to crack the nut on the injectors and close tem as you see diesel coming out of them. Also you should not have any leaks where air can be drawn in, which you should ot have if you just rempaced the filter with the correct replacement.
Hope that helps.

The 602 is very similar and i used to pre-fill the filters with diesel before installing. That way it started after minimal cranking.

On my 602 I fitted an electric pump into the supply line near the tank. I switch the pump on, bleed the system and it starts easily.
This pump once helped me through when I got a blocked fuel filter. The extra boost assisting the feed pump helped me reach home where the spare fuel filter was.
