New to the forum! 1976 416 Unimog restoration.

Hi all!

I'm currently working on a 416 mog that I got when I was 14 years old, I'm turning 17 in about a month and I'm still working on it haha. The original plan I had with the truck was to restore it and daily drive it once I was finished with high school. Up until now, I have been only doing mechanical repairs, but I'm almost at the point where I can remove the cab a start painting everything!

I was really surprised to hear that there is such a large Unimog community in South Africa, if I had known about this earlier I would have certainly put more work into finish the truck faster haha. I also heard that there is a club in South Africa for all the mog owners?? I'm not sure how I would join, but would really like to be a part of it one day when my mog is finished!

I will be sharing more pictures in the future on how the resto goes and also all the questions that I will have when doing repairs.

Would love to join, but as I said I'm still 16 and I don't think my parents are going to let me go there alone haha. Maybe by next year when my mog is done ill drive it up there when there is another event or an event in the western cape area.

I should have my license to drive the truck by next year, then ill be able to drive my mog wherever I want!
