I was missing some gear knobs for my gearbox, and after going to about 5 spares shops and scrap yards and rejecting the notion of putting gear knobs that looked like skulls I gave up on gear knobs. old knobs.jpg

So l going to my last hope, being a little odds and sods seconds stores. I walked away with these. R5 a piece.

Then after three sandings, three coats of wood sealant R70 and 3 days of waiting I finally installed them. Installed 1.jpgInstalled 2.jpg

Patent pending ;-)

I am based on London and flying to Cape Town for Easter - If you need anything small carried from the UK for your restoration (and it does not weigh a ton!) let me know. Be happy to bring it.

Nice. Can cover that emblem with either casting resin or perspex? Both will polish nicely when fine sanded and be see through. Like they do bowling balls with stuff in it, thats resin. Will bring out the emblem even more.

Nice!

I brought in some NOS knobs for my 411 from the UK some time ago when the rate was still something to smile about. Used Westfield4x4 as the source.

So now I am looking for the bonnet script for my 416 but at Euro78- 88 ex post and theft I was thinking ... How about another pending patent :)
