Dawie, It was me - 300GD all original bar the Willard battery. Supposed to be retirement project - restoration started some
time ago and completed two years ago. My daily ride where ever I go now a days.

Thanks for posting -almost sure I saw your Merc behind me and passing on the hill after the speed camera.

Heinie, you're right, I had to pass you after the camera to check on the model. Do you often come in the south? I am in Evans Park, near Gold Reef City. Please call in for a coffee when next in the area (Oh eight three 645 772 eight). I would love to see your shorty from close up. Is the swing out spare wheel carrier also original?

Unfortunately traffic prevented me from getting a better view on the two foreigners. The G looks like three door LWB. Do the still build three door G's?

Dawie I support St Mary's Childrens Home in Rosettenville, Will contact you next time around.
Yes the swing carrier is original - three door G's are no longer manufactured.

Spotted this G folowed by a Hummer in the same paint in Alberton traffic, on 22 Feb 2018. . Registration NEB XX 10 with a "D" in a small blue panel. I could not get close enough to check the G model, or get a better picture of the Hummer.
Looks like it has portal axles for the G.

What do you know; I saw the same pair parked at the Victoria Falls Hotel back in December 2015. Couldn't identify the owners on the cocktail terrace, unfortunately.

The G looks like an Entdecker to me.

G spotting in PE.
LHD
this G lives around the corner from me. Often parks on Kempston road too. He said he had to import a complete engine from Germany for it...... cost a massive amount. I would have just chucked the old SOHC 3.5 and imported a OM606!
Looks very nice tho :)

Very nice. Looks like new.

Show/tell us more about the one in the background of the second photo.
I didn't want to show too much, it was very dirty.
It's a '83 230G with a 300SE (W126) engine and gearbox. (everthing works exept for the fuel guage, the sender's resistance wire fault)
