Hello All.

Our 2004 ML270Cdi W163 battery is dead... RIP.

It's a 668 and I would like some advice on getting a new one please; is it okay to fit a cheap one or better to spend a bit more? Midas had a quote for Exide at R1850 and R2550 (Merc I think are about 4k!!). Ideally I guess having a dual system would be best but that's a job for future.

Thanking you in advance.

As long as it's an AGM (Gel) battery, I won't put a lead acid (liquid) one inside the car.
I assume your battery is under the driver's seat in the car.

Thanks for the reply. The battery is in the engine bay in front of the drivers seat. Someone advised to get an Exide, Sabat or Willard with 24 month warrantee. Midas and Goldwagen have for about 2.5k.

Gel safer for inside the vehicle I imagine?
