Hi Guys

Dirk Honing is the name. New to this forum and to Mogs in general. Recently we bought a 416 in (what appeared to be) good condition. Dekra test reported nothing too serious. The vehicle was trucked to the family farm in Southern Nam.
I have since discovered 2 issues.
1) Air in the fuel lines. There are multiple leaks. I'm throwing out all the fuel lines and replacing them. I'll also strip the fuel tank and make sure that there are no problems there. However, the primer pump also appears to be moeg and not working so well. It could be a source of bubbles. I'm looking for someone to either recon it, or provide a new/better one. Who do I go to? I'm in Cape Town.

2) 4WD is not engaging. I'm not getting drive to the front wheels. The dealer showed me the actuator pin on top of the transmission and the pin moves in when I flick the switch. However, the air pressure gauge doesn't move at all. Is that correct? The gauge does move when you step on the brakes, so the gauge is not faulty. I just want to make sure that I understand the system and what could be at fault, before I go back to the dealer. Getting it back down to Cape Town will be a costly exercise, so I would prefer doing as much as possible up there.

Apart from this I love it. Even in 2wd it makes anything else I'd driven look ordinary. It also works quite well as a game viewer for the whole family. Long term plan is to re-register it for on-the-road usage.

I now need to get it 100% so that the Cruiserboys up on the farm can sharrap once and for all :)

Any pointers?

Hi Dirk

Did you get all the answeres you needed? :?:

Air leaks in fuel line, Change old hoses and copper washers on the banjo nuts and bolts, up here in gauteng i had some fuel leaks on my primer pump so i baught a new one and a repair kit so i reconed the old one in minutes and fitted the new one so long...i baught it from Appollo 21 truck shop in Silverton, Ptretoria im sure they would be willing to send you something.
I have heard you might find them at Midas not 100% sure tho.
Also change fuel filters and the rubbers and make sure fuel filter housings x2 not cracked.

Air, you need like 8 to 8.5 bar to get everything actuating, first check for hose leaks etc, i have had 2 mogs that stood and eventualy got airleaks on the break booster.

Good luck
