You only need roadworthy to licence. Not register. Once you get roadworthy you get the licence. Licence not required to sell.

I did a om606n/a with solid flywheel from a om603 from w124 which I suspect is the same as 230e w124. It worked and few years later after selling G I believe it's still functioning.

Is your one with the outside of rim facing G or facing away? The one has a shorter mounting than the other.

MB dealer here in Cape town set tappets wrong on om617a resulting in engine that was perfect before with damage and dismantling after. Yet to take head off. Must find good engineer still. Very sad. You are likely better off in the bush and in Africa with your old G rather than at the dealerships.
