Oztent on the roof. How to place the load bars?

I travel with an RV5 but I use a full Hannibal rack for mine which works well. I think I would be inclined to add an extra bar and perhaps fabricate something like the Drifta item in the attached photo. I think this would support the tent framework better. Drifta have some great products and it...

What AUX Battery do you use

I have recently added a 130AH AGM battery to my 2017 G300 Professional and found that an Australian produced Projecta Power Hub was a great fit between the rear seats. This has a variety of inlets and outlets including a 300W pure sine wave inverter and dedicated fridge socket. I added a...

    Australian G-Wagen trip - Victoria's Big Desert

Totally agree on the price of the tour Riaan. It is ridiculous. I have had the opportunity to talk with the Service Manager at Outback Spirit tours (I bought some of their original rear seats from the Wagons) and they have had a few problems with the G's. Mainly with heat. As you may notice in...

    Australian G-Wagen trip - Victoria's Big Desert

The 'Sand Flags' are indeed a safety item while travelling in sand dune country and while not mandatory for this trip (the Border Track is only one-way in this section), the thought is that if you have them, use them. If you are doing the Simpson Desert crossing they are required by law. South...

    Australian G-Wagen trip - Victoria's Big Desert

Most were deflated to around 20 PSI although I can't speak for all! - I think there is a photo towards the end showing everyone airing up again as we hit better roads. John

    Australian G-Wagen trip - Victoria's Big Desert

We recently asked for expressions of interest in a trip to Victoria's desert region and I was pleasantly surprised to get 7 G-Wagens taking up the offer of a long weekend (Friday to Monday) into North Western Victoria. Our Trip Leader, Prem, put this video together. I hope you enjoy! John

    Snorkel

Arnold's Snorkel is commoniy referred to as the Canadian Military Snorkel and in the photo above Arnold has the inlet pipe but is missing the reinforcing bracketry (which makes it a more expensive option). I am not sure if the part numbers have changed over the years but the part numbers I have...

    Snorkel

I am in Australia and actually had it personally delivered by the designer while he was on holiday in Melbourne. I think delivery to Australia was 100 Euro on top of the 240 Euro purchase price but I would think that it would be cheaper to SA. It is also worth noting that I could have got two...

    Snorkel

I bought a Bravo Snorkel from Spain and was very happy with the quality and finish. The connection from the snorkel to the air-cleaner requires a little fiddling but it depends on the individual and the vehicle how you achieve this. See my post on the AGOA forum here. John

    G350 Motor problems?

There has been another 'Service Measure' on the G350 bluetec here in Australia which is related to the replacement of the oil cooler as I understand it. That's about all I know about it. John

    300GD - Snorkel

Hopefully I will have attached a couple of photos showing the HJ60 Safari snorkel on a couple of Australian G's John

    300GD - Snorkel

The safari snorkel is for a HJ60 from memory. It is not a perfect fit because of the curved panel on toyota but it is not too bad. I also seem to remember that the intake hood on top of the snorkel does not allow the hood to sit back on the roof without moving it. Hope that this helps John

    Plastic rivet

My Understanding is that there are two sizes of rivets for the roof and sides. 21mm and 25.5mm My spreadsheet (of parts I have ordered) shows that the larger one is A4609900592 7102 (7102 is the colour) and the smaller is A46099900092 7102. In the past I have ordered both the brown and the...

Siphon for putting in diff oil

Try marine/boat shops. They use similar things for outboard motor gearbox fills. John

Siphon for putting in diff oil

I use a one litre pump bottle which is designed for this type of thing. The one in the link is from Australia and less than $AUS20 but I am sure that you can find something similar in SA. John

    G350 Motor problems?

Just to revive this thread a bit. One of our AGOA members who had the Service Measure done a few months ago has now 'lost' piston 5 and is having his entire motor replaced. Here is the thread on the AGOA Forum John

    G350 Motor problems?

This problem doesn't appear to be impacting the Euro 5 vehicles, only the Euro 6 (Bluetec) motors. The Australian Army are running the Euro 5 and have not to my knowledge experienced any problems. John
